Cigar smoking is a culture in itself. I like to, on occasion, indulge in the smoking of fine cigars. I find the whole cigar industry highly fascinating and hope to work this interest in some form graduate school. I had my first cigar on a sunny April afternoon in 2002 while sitting watching the barges floating in the Ohio River. I went to the tobacconist shop in my hometown and purchased the Romeo y Julieta Robusto cigar as my first. I had no particular reason why I picked the Romeo other than I liked the commemorative aluminum case the cigar was housed in (I still have the aluminum case on my desk). My first cigar experience was wonderful and I have never looked back.
As you will notice below, I have provided a few resources related to cigars. I created the Cigar Journal Template. Like someone who keeps a diary, many cigar connoisseurs are known to journal their experiences with great smokes. Since I don't keep a personal diary of any kind, I do follow in the tradition of cigar journaling. For my purposes, I like to track each unique cigar that I smoke and don't tend to review the same one twice. In addition, I found the "12 Cigar Commandments" and "Cigar Smoking Etiquette" tips on the Internet.
